The New York based contemporary fashion company, Alice+Olivia, have launched their Fall 2015 collection. True to the brand’s nature of being whimsical yet sophisticated, the collection mixes eccentric prints with luxurious fabrics. It evokes an image of enchanting forest, with dominating colours like black white, and gold, accompanied by glamorous tones like deep wine, midnight blue, and emerald green. Hints of luminosity emphasized the luxe-ness of the whole collection.

“This season is about personal expression. It is about bold femininity. It is about glamour. The clothes have a true rock and roll vibe while being simultaneously very romantic,” said Stacey Bendet, CEO and Creative Director of Alice+Olivia. Her vision is translated into each pieces, put together into a bewitching collection with adventurous mixtures of floral and baroque prints, combined with the silhouettes from the Rolling Stones era.

The key point of this collection is textures. Combination of various types of materials creates unique textures for every pieces. Instead of conventional printing techniques, Bendet used brocades, fabric mixtures, and embellishments to create prints and patterns. It’s safe to say that textures are the new prints!

Textured prints beautify the 70s inspired silhouettes, giving a touch of luxe and modernity to the retro cuts. A-line skirts, bell bottom pants, matching jackets and shorts are the essential fall items that are totally wearable under Singapore weather. Although the collection, as a whole, might look a bit too grand for your everyday look, there are pieces that are totally wearable for a weekend brunch at your favorite café.

Alice+Olivia is located at #03-17 ION Orchard.
