Tod’s have released The Cape Attraction, a photography series of the Italian luxury brand’s latest handbags, the Cape, shot by the British portrait photographer, David Bailey.

The Cape Attraction is the British artist’s interpretation of relationships between a woman and her handbag. “I wanted to show the unique relationship between a woman and this very special object. It’s an intimate and profound connection, strong and sensual. A bag is a woman’s object of desire and her most loyal keeper of treasures and secrets.” he explains.

This project is the first time Bailey uses an inanimate object as the main subject of his work.
Through his sensual and sophisticated interpretation, David Bailey represents women’s lust and desire towards their handbags.

Stardust exhibition in Milan

Earlier this year, Tod’s celebrated the photographer by hosting Stardust, a photography exhibition dedicated entirely to his work in Milan. The show was exhibited over a number of themed rooms, with each one displaying stunning and intriguing images of Bailey’s time in different cities such as Papua New Guinea, East Africa, or Naga Hills.
The exhibition itself featured 300 of Bailey’s past portrait photographs which included famous faces like Kate Moss, The Beatles, and Mick Jagger. Stardust is exhibited until October 19th at the Scottish National Gallery, Edinburgh.
