Last week was a hectic one for all fashionistas amidst the much-anticipated Singapore Fashion Week. Coinciding with the glitzy lineup of runway shows was possibly the biggest annual fashion tradeshow in Singapore – Blueprint. In its sixth year of running, Blueprint was even more spectacular than ever. Featuring invigorating and unique collections by both established and emerging designers from all over Asia, as well as international designers, the tradeshow was a never-ending fashion playground for visitors. If you couldn’t make it for the event (try your best to attend it next year!), here are our favorite finds from Blueprint 2015.

Niin

This Taiwanese but Chinese-based label is made for all you girls-next-door! An eclectic brand with a playful and whimsical air, its designs are inspired by fairytales and all things sweet and girly. What makes their collection so delightfully unconventional is its varied use of mismatched fabrics and prints. This encourages wearers to mix and match the different pieces together to create a look that’s simply their own. Talk about individual expression of style and personality – Niin’s style philosophy of creating one’s own unique identity instead of following strict fashion rules is indeed an inspiration for all aspiring fashionistas. We especially love the grid-patterned vest-dress with a colorful front motif, which somehow reminds us of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

JUNZHOU

Featuring an androgynous aesthetic, the Chinese label is mostly unisex and catered to the sophisticated and modern individual. Designer Junzhou is a master at adding unexpected elements to classic and structured silhouettes. Some of his most prominent pieces include tailored suits in bright pops of color and textured prints, long vests with unique lace-up sides and bermuda shorts with edgy designs. We love how the pieces are daring and yet pretty wearable due to their clean lines and forms. If you’re looking for a dapper outfit that will stand out from the crowd, you know which label you can turn to!

RÊVASSEUR

True to its name (which means “daydreamer” in French), the Singaporean label carries pieces that are a unique fusion of whimsy and avant-garde. Founded by Gilda Su, who is easily recognisable with her loud outfits and colourful hair, her designs mirror her personality through their strong silhouettes and heavy takes on textures and prints. Not for the faint of heart, some of her pieces are over-the-top and outrageously attention-grabbing. It’s all in good fun as Gilda wishes to spur her wearers to experiment more with fashion and to create their own unique personal style. Check out RÊVASSEUR if you’re looking to update your wardrobe with super bold and statement pieces… you’ll definitely turn heads for sure!

Spektre

Apart from its amazing collection of quirky and fun sunglasses, we loved that this Italian label has specially created designs made to flatter Asian faces. With Spektre sunglasses, you’ll no longer have “Asian” problems such as too-big sunglasses or having them constantly slide down your nose. Such a thoughtful touch, isn’t it? Founded in 2009 by Niccolò Pocchini, each pair of sunglasses is handmade and quality-ensured. Another exceptional feature of Spektre sunglasses is their incredibly malleable frames. This ensures a better fit for the face and also prevents the sunglasses from getting all wonky. Perfect for all you clumsy folks or those who constantly forget to put your sunglasses in a proper case!

K.Blu Swim

How could we forget about swimwear when it’s summer all year round in Singapore? K.Blu Swim is an up-and-coming swimwear label launched in 2014 by founder and creative director Lyn Rosmarin. The swimwear collection is specially catered to Asian women with designs that are more suited for their petite frames. We loved how the brand offers swimwear designs that are more conservative, and which feature more Asian-centric designs. Our favorite picks were the pieces from their Precious Porcelain collection and their latest Spring/Summer 2015 collection, which are the epitome of understated elegance with a hint of sexiness, but without any raunchiness. And did we mention that their designs offer fuller coverage and increased support? This is the go-to swimwear label for the classy lady, and something that your mom will definitely approve of!
