You’ve grown up reading the story and seen it brilliantly portrayed in the hit Disney animated movie. We are no stranger to the elusive glass slipper that everyone’s beloved princess perches gracefully on when she danced with her Prince Charming that fateful night. Now, you can see it in real life.
The iconic glass slipper gets a fashion-forward makeover by nine of the world’s top-tier shoe designers, in celebration of the release of Disney’s live-action adaptation of the classic fairytale. From Salvatore Ferragamo, to Nicholas Kirkwood, Jimmy Choo to Charlotte Olympia, these newly re-imagined and classically designed shoes will hit stores in Saks Fifth Avenue come March, offering an opportunity for the fans to relive the fairytale in reality.
Mark Briggs, Chief Marketing and Creative Officer at Saks reported that rich in romance and tradition, the merging of Disney and Saks Fifth Avenue for the Cinderella-inspired collection felt natural. Personally handpicked by Disney, the designers intend to transform customers in their own version of the fairytale princess. Vice President of Licensing, Jonathan Symington explained that the Cinderella glass slipper is a symbol of magical transformation, and that “each pair of shoes in this exciting global collection captures Cinderella’s elegance and grace through the lens of celebrated designers, making this shoe collection truly fit for a princess.”
Just don’t leave these slippers behind.
