International lifestyle brand Club Monaco has just launched its Fall/Winter 2015 collection, and the pieces are, as expected, timeless yet modern. Filtered through a Nordic lens, the Fall/Winter 2015 collection draws inspiration from the earth and the landscape of Iceland, particularly its black volcanic countryside. Heathered charcoal evoke images of the land, together with supple camel tones, moss green, stark white, and ivory. Meanwhile, celadon and shades of lavender reflect Icelandic ocean views. The complementary shades deliberately designed with layered dressing in mind, so don’t forget to pick up a leather coat or a mohair sweater, or both!

For the women’s collection, the silhouettes aim to revitalize 60s and 80s trends while playing with proportion. Caroline Belhumeur, the creative director and SVP of women’s design at Club Monaco, states that it’s “all about subtle shifts of proportion”. The collection is characterized by slimmer tops, shorter skirts, and slightly flared pant legs designed with ankle boots in mind. Sweater dressing is a main focus, with turtlenecks layered beneath luxurious sweaters. The trimmer silhouette of this collection helps maintain an elegant proportion without looking bulky. Clean, heavy crepes developed exclusively with Italian mills are juxtaposed with textured fabrics, making the outfits in this collection a visual treat.

As this collection is designed to be layered, there are actually a lot of light pieces that suit the climate in Singapore, which is quite rare for most F/W selections! In fact, even heavier pieces like their knit sweaters can be worked into our wardrobes since offices and shopping malls in Singapore are notorious for being too cold. In addition, since these pieces were designed with timelessness in mind, you can always keep your favourite items for your next holiday to a cold climate!

Club Monaco is located at #B1-41/47/48 Takashimaya S.C., Ngee Ann City.
