First introduced in 2011, the H&M Conscious Collection has since become one of the Swedish apparel giant’s key lines. Known for its cheap prices and often criticised for the resulting labour and ecological consequences, the retailer focuses twice a year on designing a collection using premium organic and green fabrics. For their Spring 2015 Conscious Collection, H&M worked with recycled fabrics as well as organic silk and leather (from organic cows farmed for their meat) and Tencel Lycocel, a fabric made from the pulp of eucalyptus trees so you can feel comfy as a koala.

Green but also desirable thanks to a blend of influences from traditional Japanese garments and African embellishments, the ethnic chic-collection also includes solid basics like an interesting open-sleeve jacket.

Discover our favourite pieces from the collection, with our tips on how to style them.

The H&M Conscious Exclusive Spring 2015 collection will be available in stores from April 16.
